Social media management and content creation
What I do and how I do it
Strategic planning – Step one in any new campaign is to highlight and narrow down on what exactly are the strategic objectives and how can new content best serve those goals.
Creative brainstorming – How to think creatively to create an original piece of content that engages and drives us towards our strategic objectives.
Creative execution – Now its time to make the content. Be it stills, graphic design, video, activations whatever it is, I go about creating that piece of engaging content
Scheduling – There is a right time and place for certain posts and having the intuitive as well as well researched, objective point of view, I Then use a variety of professional scheduling tools to ensure that the content goes out onto the pages at the time its meant to
Community management – People want to know that they are speaking to a human being. Once the post is out and the engagement is happening, it becomes crucial that Im available immedietly to answer questions and engage with the community.
Analysis and reporting – The final stage is where it all comes together. Learning from what worked and sometimes from what didnt is an extremely valuable exercise in honing my skill and intuitive feeling for managing social media.
Twice a year I run my own music and arts festival called Evoking Art Experience. The event is a well attended and has quickly become a favoured live experience on The Garden Route. What has been absolutely crucial to the success of the event has been the way in which the organisation coordinates and manages its social media presence. The name of the game is creating exciting an engaging content that feeds the algorithm thereby boosting reach.

I am currently working at Fynbos On Sea which is a new upmarket lodge and activity centre based in Sedgefield. Fynbos on Sea is member of a larger Lodge collective called Simbavati. My job is about creating content and posting it on their social media pages.
